Thank you, Presenter!
Your contribution to this conference will multiply your teaching effort by sharing effective means of teaching

within the TEKS to thousands of students across the Coastal Bend.

What to expect:

Your Presentation will be identified as Elementary, Middle School, High School, Mixed Level, or Computer.
  • The participants should be at the same level as you indicate for your workshop.
  • Participants will be looking for activities and lessons they can use in their classroom in the fall. It will be helpful for them to have:
    • Handouts
    • An idea of the cost of manipulatives needed.
    • A clear clear correlation with TEKS by grade level.
  • You should be prepared to engage up to 30 participants in active learning during your presentation.
  • Please let us know if you would be able to work with more participants or if you would allow having 'gallery' seating beyond the 30 participants.
  • The rooms are tiered with fixed tables in rows. Participants can work cooperatively with colleagues in adjacent rows. (Alternate rows of participants can turn around and work with the participants behind them.)
  • All but the computer workshop will be in a large classroom with
    • computer with CD-ROM and internet connection--USB connections may not be available.
    • overhead projector
    • document camera (ELMO)
    • video players
    • all connected to a video projector.
  • The Computer Workshop will be in a lab of 25 computers with one attached to a projector.
  • Each presentation and workshop will be evaluated by the participants. You will get feedback, too.
  • Please submit handouts by May 24 so they may be included in a website developed for the conference. Be sure that no copyrighted materials are included but you may refer to them as needed.
